Who We Are:

HomeCheckers.ca Ltd., established in 1996, introduces a new home security checking and pet care program that is designed for residents of Ottawa. Operated by retired RCMP members, we have an extensive background in property security and are bonded, insured and registered for your protection. All security visits are made by HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. professionals and we do not contract work out.

Doug

Doug MacDONALD, Owner / Manager of HomeCheckers.ca Ltd.. Doug retired from the federal public service in June of 1997, following a career of over thirty years with the RCMP and CSIS, and has an extensive background in security. Additionally, HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. has three associates with similar qualifications, who recently retired from the RCMP, Ontario Ministry of Public Safety and Security, Ottawa Police Services and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. services are now available to all of the Ottawa region.

Gary

MANAGER ** OTTAWA - EAST

Gary BAUDER joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in September, 2005. Gary retired in July 2005 from the Ontario Ministry of Public Safety and Security, where he has served for over 29 years. Gary resides in Orleans.

AREA: Gary is responsible for Orleans, Cumberland, Blackburn Hamlet, Beacon Hill, Vanier, Rockcliffe and New Edinburgh

Don

MANAGER 1 OTTAWA / SOUTH / EAST

Don KELLY joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in February 2006 Don retired from Canadian Armed Forces following a career of over 30 years. Don's service in the CAF included Military Police and Security. Don is bilingual and is a resident of Blackburn Hamlet.

AREA: Don is responsible for Hunt Club East, Alta Vista, Lower Town, Market Area, Centre Town and the Glebe, west to Bronson Avenue.

Don is also back-up to Gary.

Thom

MANAGER 1 OTTAWA CENTER / SOUTH

Thom SCHARF joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in April of 2007 and had previous served with the Ottawa Police Services.

AREA: Thom is responsible for Hunt Club West, Mooney's Bay, Parkwood Hills and Skyline. (Bronson Avenue west to east side of Merivale, south of Baseline).

Thom does provide some dog walking/sitting in selected areas of the city.

Thom is resident of Hunt Club West.

Melina

MANAGER 1 OTTAWA-CENTER / WEST

Melina BLAIR joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in July 2009 and was previously employed in a service industry which required bonding for access to clients' homes. Additionally, she was employed with an animal hospital clinic for several years and is very fond of pets. Melina resides in trendy Westboro village in the centre of her district.

AREA: Tunney's Pasture, Westboro, Britannia, Central Park, Centrepointe, Leslie Park and Qualicum (Bronson Ave west to Moodie Dr - Baseline Road north Ottawa River, and west of Merivale Rd to Moodie Dr)

MANAGER 1 OTTAWA - SOUTH

Gayle BISSETT joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd in October 2009 and has operated a successful pet care service for over 9 years - Canine Caravan Inc. With this business background Gayle is now able to offer dog walking services to clients of HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in certain districts of the city, in addition to the regular home checking requirements she performs.. Gayle resides in Riverside South - Manotick area.

Area: Riverside South, Manotick, Greely, and Barrhaven East - east of Greenbank.

Riley

MANAGER 1 BARRHAVEN WEST - BRIDLEWOOD

Riley MacDONALD joined HomeCheckers .ca Ltd. in October 2008. Prior to this, Riley assisted HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in an administrative role, and is knowledgeable of the responsibilities and functions required of a competent HomeChecker. Riley lives in the Bridlewood area of Kanata.

AREA: Riley is responsible for Kanata, Stittsville, Bridlewood and Barrhaven West, (west of Greenbank Road).

Brent

MARKETING - EXPANSION

Brent KEY has been part of the Homecheckers.ca Ltd. family for over seven years. Brent is originally from the Montreal area, and is currently employed as V/P Sales for a local hi-tech company in Kanata.
